Webby's 1st Photo Shoot

The ultrasound went great!  The nurse said everything looks good and that little Webby is measuring 6w6d, which means I probably ovulated a few days later than my LMP would have us believe.  Webby's heartbeat was a strong 156bpm!

Anticipation

Today is the day that I (we) get to see little Webby for the first time!   I don't know what to expect but I just hope that Webby is healthy in there.  The anticipation is killing me.  I keep going back and forth between being nervous about them saying something is wrong and nervous about them saying there is more than one Webby, lol.  The ultrasound isn't until 4:00pm, so this is going to be a LOOOOOOONG day; good thing I took a 1/2 day at work and get to leave at 12.

7 Weeks

  • She's generating about one hundred new brain cells each minute!
  • Not only is her brain becoming more complex, but her heart is too.
  • Also important: She's developing a permanent set of kidneys
  • Her arm and leg joints are now forming.

6 Weeks

Obviously, she's growing like crazy! She's also circulating blood with her increasingly more sophisticated circulatory sytem.
She's about to get cuter too, since she's starting to sprout a nose, eyes, ears, chin and cheeks.  And she might even be wiggling her (paddle-like) hands and feet.

5 Weeks

Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

How far along?
5 Weeks Today!

Maternity clothes?
None yet...the bloat is making me wear looser clothing though.  I have to unbutton my pants at times too.

Sleep?
All I want to do is sleep!  I get home from work and spend the night in bed.  When it comes to sleeping through the night, that's another story.  I wake up all night long :(

Best moment this week?
Still feeling symptoms.  I get worried about whether or not my little bean will stick!

Food cravings:
Sour Cream & Onion Pringles....and hamburgers.

Gender:
No idea!

Belly button in or out?
In

Movement:
Way too early for that!!!

What I miss?
Having energy...but I'll take the exhaustion because it means the little one is growing!

What I'm loking forward to:
September 26, 2011 - 1st ultrasound

Milestones:
Seeing little Webby at the end of the month <3

Lesson Learned

So here I am @ 4 weeks 2 days (according to the due date calculator) learning my first lesson (of many I assume) on this journey.

Lesson learned?

I need to eat. a lot.  I need to put myself on some sort of schedule and force myself to eat even if I don't feel hungry.  I made the mistake of going too long in between "meals"  (in quotes because I obviously need to change my definition of a meal now as well) and almost passed out on the kitchen floor.  I was in the process of making myself something to eat but the lightheaded feeling/shaking got really bad and it resulted in me crawling to the fridge to grab my bottle of Gatorade.  Don't ask why I grabbed Gatorade and not the container of strawberries, I have no idea, all I remember thinking was "must. get. gatorade." I didn't wind up passing out and, after a frantic call to my mom, and a perfect timing appearance by my SO, I was able to get the food from the pan to the plate and eat it.  and then I had seconds.  and I am still hungry!!!!

As someone who needed to eat every 3-4 hours before getting pregnant, I don't know why I thought I wouldn't need to eat sooner than that while baking a baby.

Love & Nutrients,
Rhody
